Do You Make These Procrastination Mistakes?
YES! You live and breathe procrastination...
#1: The Overwhelmingly Overwhelming Overwhelm That Goes Unnoticed
You often think to yourself: "So, what do I need to do today?" then start thinking about all the things you have to do.
You check your to-do list...
You check your Google Calendar...
Then for some reason, you ask yourself the same question again: "So, what do I need to do today?" then you start thinking again.
This goes over and over.
You think about all the things you have to do.
Then you finally make a plan.
Then you are ready to take action.
Then...
"Let me check Facebook, YouTube, the new manga chapter, the new anime, the new TV show, the news, the notifications,..."
Alright, you quickly do all that and you refocus.
You only wasted 10 minutes, it's fine.
"So, what do I do now?"
And you still freaking don't know.
"Alright, let me check Facebook, YouTube, the new manga chapter, the new anime, the new TV show, the news, the notifications,..."
This time, you only waste 5 minutes. It's fine.
"So, what do I need to do again?"
Then you think again about all the things you have to do today.
Then...
"Damn, I'm hungry and I crave some coffee..."
And now you have this conflicting thoughts fighting inside you:
"No man, you don't want to waste your time, money, focus, energy, and attention on getting food and coffee. It will also kill your momentum and waste your most productive morning hours."
"Damn, I'm hungry and I crave some coffee..."
"No man, you don't want to waste your time, money, focus, energy, and attention on getting food and coffee. It will also kill your momentum and waste your most productive morning hours."
"Damn, I'm hungry and I crave some coffee..."
This loop goes on for about 15 times.
And you give in.
"Alright, I guess I'll get some coffee with croissant."
"I'll make it up later by working more." (which of course you never do)
The root problem comes from not starting.
You think about all the things you have to do today and you overwhelm yourself.
If you just started taking action for 2 minutes and not overthink it, the day becomes completely different.
Start with taking action 2 minutes and a procrastination day transforms itself into a productivity day.
And you know it.
But you still don't do it.
How hard is it to take action for 2 minutes?
Man... Do you realize how stupid you are?
I mean, you are not stupid. You are smart. But you are making super stupid decisions.
That makes you sometimes smart, sometimes stupid.
Rome was not built in one day.
Billionaires were not created in one day.
Even God needed 6 days to create the world.
A marathon starts with just one step.
Before reaching 42 km, you need to run 10 km.
Before 10 km, you need to run 1 km.
Before 1 km, you need to run 100 m.
Before 100 m, you need to run 1 m.
Before 1 m, you need to start moving to take that one step.
Dan Henry has this 2-minute rule.
Mel Robbins has this 5-second rule.
Whatever ritual you have, it doesn't matter.
Just start.
Do it now.
Always.
Be present.
Don't give up on this moment.
This moment is yours to take.
Don't give it away to an illusion.
Grasp it in your hand because it is yours.
The world is yours to take.
You deserve it.
You create your own reality so why not make it good?
Don't give in to that random thought, that random desire, that random feeling that wants you to run away from reality.
Embrace it wholeheartedly.
Accept it, because it is yours.
Reject it, and it becomes a shackle on your feet.
Each time you reject it, it becomes a rock that you put in your backpack. And your backpack becomes heavier and heavier.
Release yourself from all that illusion.
Accept your shadow. It is yours.
Everything is yours.
Realize that what you seek is already what you are.
You know what to do.
You don't know why but you just know it.
The universal intelligence, the natural law, God's will, all flow through you.
You know it.
Accept it.
Then action becomes naturally effortless.
Either you create a story that ends as a procrastinator's boring life.
Or you create the story of the hero who saves the world.
But it doesn't have to be that flashy. Just create a story where you have fun and feel good.
Procrastination doesn't make you feel good.
That's the biggest false belief of a procrastinator.
Take action and feel good now.
Because being in the flow feels great.
Being present feels great.
Not having paradox and random thoughts in your head, feels great.
Now, it feels great.
Embrace this great feeling.
And just start.
Start being the true version of yourself.
Express your true self.
NOW.
