DO IT. TAKE ACTION.
That's the 5 second rule. You count down from 5 to 1 then you take action. Super simple.
Why doesn't everybody do it if it's so good?
Because it's not...
if you don't understand this crucial thing: 100% success rate.
You can either condition yourself to take action each time you count down from 5 to 1 or you can condition yourself to procrastinate even more.
If you take action each time you use the 5 second rule, good for you, it works for you.
But if you are a master procrastinator and a super lazy person like me, the 5 second rule alone won't stop your procrastination.
So how to use the 5 second rule as a lazy procrastinator?
Do it with 100% success rate.
Only do the 5-second countdown when you are 99% sure you will take action.
(or force yourself to take action each time you use the 5 second rule)
Use the 5 second rule when you have enough motivation and the task is easy enough.
Then the more you use the 5 second rule successfully, the more associated the 5-second countdown will be with taking action.
Then taking action will be easier and easier as you use the 5 second rule more and more.
