Thank you auntie Millie for teaching me this amazing skill.

So freaking easy...

So simple...

This is something I would recommend everybody to learn when they are 6 years old (or now).

When I was 14 years old, despite spending more than 8 hours a day on the PC, my typing speed was slower than most of my classmates.

Imagine this geeky Asian kid typing on his PC keyboard while looking at his two middle fingers touching the keys as slow as a snail.

Now I can type around 70 words per minute (top 15%) without looking at my keyboard at all. (Yes, it is actually pretty slow because I only use the trick and don't practice writing fast.)

The crazy thing is that if my auntie Millie didn't tell me about this super easy trick, I would have kept typing super slowly until someone told me this trick!

Once I practiced typing with this trick for one or two weeks,

  • I could read a text and type it at the same time.
  • I could watch a movie and transcribe it at the same time.
  • I could watch porn and type random posts at the same time.

In the beginning, my typing speed got slower because I needed to get used to this new style of typing.

Then after 3 weeks, I was probably one of the fastest typers in my school.

Alright, what is this super easy trick?

Let me teach it to you in 30 seconds.

It's called touch typing. (Yes, it has a Wikipedia page.)

You put the 8 fingers of your hands (without thumbs) in the "resting position" with your left index finger on the letter F and your right index finger on the letter J.

(I guess it's easier if you watch a YouTube video tutorial.)

The main point is that you use 9 out of your 10 fingers in an optimal way so that a letter is almost always typed with the same finger.

Then when you know which finger is used for which letter, you just practice until it becomes automatic and you can do it without looking at your keyboard.

It's super easy, super simple, and you can easily practice every day while you are typing random things on your keyboard.
